Just Fucking VOTE

"All of the presidential candidates suck, so I won't be voting."

"I don't like Donald Trump, so if he's the nominee, I won't be voting."

"Texas votes red, so my blue vote won't make a difference anyway."

"I just don't keep up with politics."

These are all reasons that I have personally heard as to why some otherwise intelligent people in my life have chosen not to vote in the upcoming presidential election - and why they didn't vote in the primary. I feel that I need to be frank here. These are complete bullshit reasons. Complete bullshit.

Many of the people I have heard say that the candidates all suck and they have no choices are also the people that did not vote in the primary. Dude. That is literally what the state primaries are for. You have the most choice in who gets the nomination during those primaries, and so many people don't vote. When you don't vote, you don't have a say in the choice and then you get upset that the two candidates that are left to get the nomination suck and that you didn't have any choices. Bullshit. Get your ass up and vote. The truth of the matter is that one candidate WILL win this election. That is inevitable. You should have a say. It's your right and your duty. Sometimes you vote for the candidate that you like and sometimes you vote against the candidate that you don't like. Both are okay - as long as you get out and vote!!!

Also, ladies and gents, your vote is your voice. Our country is being ruled more and more by the people that have the most money. Your voice as an everyday citizen gets smaller and smaller with each passing day - except in this one way. Voting. You have the power to send a message and to change the way in which this country is run. I don't know about you guys, but I'm getting really damn tired of the U.S. Congress not doing its job and getting paid a hefty salary to do nothing. So you bet my happy ass will be at the polls with bells on making sure that none of those people get my vote. Voting is how you affect change. Voting locally effects change in your town, then your state, and all the way up to the White House. You are so much more important than you will ever realize.

It doesn't matter for which party your state generally votes; your vote absolutely counts. How do you think your state turned red or blue in the first place? PEOPLE VOTED. It's literally as simple as that. The more you vote, the more you count!

"I just don't keep up with politics." Nothing gets under my skin more than this statement. We live in a time where literally the entirety of all knowledge that currently exists in our universe is at your fingertips and is available to you in under fifteen seconds. There is literally no excuse for not looking up candidates and deciding how you feel about them. This will take, like, ten minutes of your time and you have absolutely no excuse. A statement like this is 100% unacceptable in 2016. Get it together, folks. Our future depends on your vote.

We also have to think past the presidential vote on this one, guys. The next president could potentially appoint the next three Supreme Court justices. Do you like being able to marry anyone you want? Do you like being able to make decisions about how your own uterus is used? Then you need to seriously think about who you want choosing the next judges in our country's highest court.

Here is a list of upcoming elections in your state. It literally could not be more simple for you to vote.

No excuses, get it done!
